As a CDS Technical Field Engineer, you will be covering multi-vendor equipment HP ProLiant & Blade servers right up to Gen 10 & IBM P series will be based out of Croydon and will be required to cover Watford if required, 24 hours a day, /7 day a week, 365 days a year. You will be working a rota based on both 12-hour day and night shifts.

Responsible for the delivery of solutions within the named accounts, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Installations, maintenance, and repairs on customer equipment on a 24x7x365 on-site cover.
  • Understandings customer goals; identifying consequences of various solutions.
  • Configuring system hardware & software. Assembling and integrating system/product and verifying's system/product operation.
  • Uses proactive monitoring procedures to identify problem-prevention opportunities.
  • Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction by clarifying customer needs and ensuring that they are met. Handles customer-relations problems promptly and appropriately.
  • Ensuring all calls are resolved within the agreed SLA, ensuring calls are escalated when required and customers are updated until the call is resolved and closed.
  • The ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Display calmness and the ability to solve problems under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high awareness of customer needs.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Perform duties at a team leader level.


Required skills and attributes:

  • Must have very strong knowledge of HP ProLiant & Blade servers right up to Gen 10 & IBM P series.
  • HP server accreditation preferred.
  • Use of Service Now
  • The ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Display calmness and the ability to solve problems under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high awareness of customer needs.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable Skills/Qualifications:

  • IBM server knowledge especially ‘P’ Class and Blade servers.
  • Dell PowerEdge.
  • FSM knowledge
  • Service Now call handling system knowledge.
