HR Manager Germany (m/f/d)

CDS is a subsidiary part of the Hewlett Packard Enterprise group (HPE) of Companies, delivering Field Technical Services for the parent Company. CDS is present in 10 Western European Countries with a headcount of  approximately 1400 employees. CDS Germany has approximately 150 employees.

CDSHR processes are managed separately from those of HPE. For CDS Germany we are looking for the Head of HR. The position is responsible  for the end to end HR cycle and  he/she will have 1 HR Administrator as a direct report.

The role is a key member of the EMEA HR Leadership Team and of the Germany Leadership Team, reporting solid line to the EMEA HR Director and functionally to the German General Manager.

The candidates must have a “hands-on” attitude. As well as  responsibility for the design and delivery of local HR strategy he/she should also  be actively involved in the day-to-day operations, delivered directly and through the HR team.

We are looking for a, hands-on HR Business Partner or HR Manager who has a flexible, determined, pragmatic and energetic approach.  Strong business acumen is also a key requirement together with the ability to manage a matrix environment which include the parent company Hewlett-Packard Enterprise. 

Key responsibilities

  • End to end responsibility for the HR cycle in the Country
  • Recruiting
  • HR Administration and relationship with external governmental entities
  • Leads the relationship with the Workers Council
  • Responsible for Payroll through an external outsourced company and for Time Tracking
  • Terminations (individual and collective)
  • Learning and Development, in conjunction with the Business L&D Lead
Creating an HR strategy that will enable the business to attract, develop and retain the very best talents available Clear succession planning across the business with sufficient talent moving through the business to support growth plans and enhancing the employability within CDS Well defined and managed workforce planning for the region Ensuring consistency of people processes Trusted adviser to the German General Manager and Leadership Team Developing short, medium and long term people strategies to maximize employee engagement, as measured by the annual employee engagement survey Identifying and implementing the necessary changes to the HR practices/processes, in a continuous improvement logic.

Candidate personal competences

  • The successful candidate will be a solid HR professional that wants to prove him/herself as an HR Manager, or a young HR Manager that wants to operate in a matrix/multinational environment.
  • He/she will come with an understanding of what is needed to create an HR strategy with a “hands-on” attitude to make sure all the HR activities are delivered in time and well performed, both directly and through the team.
  • He/she will be able to connect to his/her stakeholders and recognized as a solid HR counterpart both for his/her technical HR knowledge, and for his/her ability to translate business needs into HR plans and actions.
  • He/she is able to identify the changes needed to gain more efficiency into the HR processes, is able to operationalize them into a solution and is able to gain the necessary support by his/her stakeholders.
  • He/She is able to build up a solid and trustful relationship with the local Workers Council, being able to negotiate agreements which support the company strategy and the wellbeing of the workforce.
  • He/she is able to connect and contribute to the EMEA HR team discussions.
  • Good knowledge of labor and contract law as well as proper payroll management
  • Hands-on, execution-focused business enabler as well as strategic advisor to executives/managers
  • Excellent language skills in German and English
  • Candidate should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong MS O365 skills required
  • Workday expert knowledge is a big plus
  • Experience in end-to-end HR processes is a must
  • Ability to multi-task, manage own time, handle pressure and use own initiative
  • A “can do” attitude and willingness to go the extra mile when required
  • Strong problem solving and solution finding abilities
  • Proactive, flexible and self-motivated team player
